Re: [LINUX_Newbies] Zorin Linux Firefox Yahoo Webmail question...

Added problem showed up...all games are gone from its sub-menu? Guess I'll try a repair, before trying LXLE again.

Subject: [LINUX_Newbies] Zorin Linux Firefox Yahoo Webmail question...

Is it possible to adjust the width of the blue slider button bars, so it's easier and faster to grab them to move with my mouse? Or do I have to uninstall and get Firefox from the Firefox website instead, using Chrome? Since I'm guessing this is Zorin Linux or other problem, I never saw this before on any Linux Distro?

sophie, you wrote: "software updater did not inform me"

As is noted in the link that was provided: "You can only upgrade to the latest Xubuntu release if you are running the second most recent release. If you have an older release, you must upgrade to the next release after that, and so on until you are running the most recent version."

Re: [LINUX_Newbies] Files locked?

I don't know why you are locked, but Ubuntu 13.04 has not been supported since January and you would be advised to install a new version that has support, either 14.04 which has five years of support or 14.10 which has nine months of support. You will not be able to fix your problem by downloading any packages and few people would be running it to give you any advice. In other words your shortest path is to install a new version.

Subject:[LINUX_Newbies] Files locked?

I'm running Ubuntu 13.04  I accessed my files today and found a padlock icon on all items in all my files. My LibreOffice won't open any of the documents I need. Images will open. Music files won't. Restarting the PC didn't help.

Can anyone suggest what's going on and how I can fix it? =(

Some suggestions here.

http://askubuntu.com/questions/263450/folders-showing-lock-icon

You can try googling a bit more for something like ubuntu files locked and
see if you find something else that helps.

Re: [LINUX_Newbies] xubuntu 14.10

Yes. There is a Xubuntu 14.10. But it is built on Ubuntu and shares the same repositories. My grub entry for Kubuntu says Ubuntu even though I installed Kubuntu. I am a little concerned about the last line though. I've never seen that.

You can always try a download and do a fresh installation should the upgrade not work. You could proceed and then remove ubuntu-desktop afterwards if it is upgraded by mistake and install xubuntu-desktop to get the same result.
