OS Repair will repair GUI.
GUI will function when booting from a live bootable Ubuntu CD or USB.

Or is it better to do:

Hello

Linux Crash/Hardware or Software problem?
One computer is crashing down
once every 2 or 4 months
during booting.

What did we do:
3 times we brought it to the PC shop,
they said
no problem.
We tried 3 OS-Systems
same problem.

How can Linux check
is it hardware- or software bug?

Re: [LINUX_Newbies] reapair video

hello
We have some video files in mp4 or wmv
which are destroyed.

What did happen:
We made a movie with the camera and the akku became empty and the
camera could not close the file.
Now VLC and other software cannot play the files.

We tried to repair with untrund but it failed.
We found some ideas in the www with ffmpeg
but also it did not work.

Can somebody help us?

Re: [LINUX_Newbies] question docker cpulimit cgroups

No.
Thank You.
We have to study to write scripts.

We do

sudo cpulimit -e chrome -l 30

in a terminal
but this does only block or limit one tab.

If there are 10 tabs
they must be limited by

sudo cpulimit --pid 17971 --limit 10

Regards

Sophie
