KDE Meets Android 4.x: Gets MTP Support

"In order to have MTP support we needed a "kio-slave", which has been
developed by Philipp Schmidt, and then modify some parts of our
workspaces (dolphin, kdelibs and notifier) to integrate the MTP devices
as if they were just regular massive storage (pen drives)."

"At the moment there is no one click solution so you will have to get
your hands dirty. In order to install kio-mpt, follow the commands below
as suggested by Alex."

git clone http://anongit.kde.org/kio-mtp
mkdir kio-mtp/build
cd kio-mtp/build
cmake ../ -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Debugfull #(THIS MAY BE DIFFERENT)
make install

[nslu2-linux] [package]syno-e500-aria2: json-rpc feathur seems is not enabled?

 

package: syno-e500 aria2 1.14.1

when I try to enable json rpc through cli... a error occured

--unrecognized+option+'--enable-rpc

any idea?

You might try the optware feeds.

The instructions on the bottom of the installation page tell you how to
enable the optware feeds so that you can use "ipkg" to install from
optware (and "opkg" will continue to fetch the native SlugOS feed packages).

Its up and running fine, but I sure miss mc. Any quick clues on installing midnight commander. Maybe I missed something.

opkg install mc - comes back and says can't find package.

[LINUX_Newbies] Network Connections Atheros AR5B125

 

I want to reset the Ubuntu Network Connections so that I can connect to a Wi-Fi. So far, I have been unable to do that. I stumbled on how to connect using my old Toshiba laptop before it stopped working.

Now that Windows 8 is on the way, I would rather use Ubuntu on my current laptop. I am using Windows 7. It's OK, and it handles some of my banking software.

I used Linux on my old computer and I like it a lot better.

Here are my current network specs:
- I am using a Acer Aspire 5349-2899 laptop
- Intel B815
- Acer Nplify 802.11 b/g/n
- Ethernet controller AR5B125
- Atheros driver v1.0.0.43
- IPv4 Address 192.168.2.3
- Default Gateway / DHCP server 192.168.2.1
- IPv4 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

I have my additional information to connect to my router. There will be connection data for my wireless connections wherever I am at - coffee shop, mall, etc. But I did that before and i should be able to do it again.

How can I urge this computer to connect using this hardware and a copy of Ubuntu 12.10 / 12.04? I am still not real good with the UNIX /Linux software. I hope someone can help. Thanks.

Thanks for the tip!

How do I get my optware config to point to the opkg feeds?
I tried adding the package url to /opt/etc/ipkg.conf like so:

and /etc/opt/ipkg/cross-feed.conf :

But I can't find or install any packages from those repositories.

Do I need to use opkg instead of ipkg?  If so, do you know how I can bootstrap that onto my WVL?

I've been trying to install transmission on a Buffalo Linkstation LS-WVL, the CPU is an armv5tel.

Is there a problem with the package, or am I doing something wrong?
Any pointers for how to debug and fix issues like these in the future when cross compiling other software using optware?
