Fedora uses the noveau driver, which doesn't yet, as far as I know, do
3D. They are actually, (again as far as I know, they're the only ones),
paying full time developers to try to get ATI and NVidia working with
open source.
For Fedora, when you use proprietary stuff, you need, at present, to use
the rpmfusion repos.
http://rpmfusion.
I believe they have NVidia drivers, though not sure if it's up to date.
Remember, Fedora is in the US, so has to be more concerned about this
than does Ubuntu. They cannot, legally, provide a repo for it, but have
to leave it to rpmfusion, who is in Canada, where, apparently, the
politicians aren't all bought and paid for. :) (I'm not cynical, nope,
not me.)
Also on the rpmfusion site....
http://rpmfusion.
Which should be useful.
It's a shame of course, but it really isn't Fedora's fault.
At any rate, it's (usually) relatively trivial. Judging from Fedora
forums, this is turning into a relatively smooth release. I've been
using it on my workstation at work without problems for a few weeks now.
(I usually install rawhide when it hits beta, leaving the previous
release on another drive so that I can copy over needed files and of
course, revert to the working version if rawhide breaks.)

To me (being used to it) it seems fairly simple, though of course, not
as simple as allowing nonfree in Ubuntu. Again, that's the disadvantage
of having a US based distribution.
If you run into further trouble, please post.
I haven't seen any mention of new nvidia issues (yet) on Fedora forum or
the Fedora test list, so I assume it will be relatively easy. Please
let us know.

Buffy: Yeah. She saw these scores and her head spun around and

Giles: I've been on the Hellmouth too long, that was metaphorical,
yes?
Buffy: Yes.
