Hi again. I am taking a class in Linux at our local community college
beginning in January. I obtained the information from my instructor on
the textbook we are supposed to be using and it is listed below. Our
college sells it for $171 new (royal rip-off) and $128 used. I have
seen it much, much cheaper online, but I want to be sure I get the
correct edition. The college bookstore won't even let you browse the
books anymore, probably for fear of someone getting it somewhere else
much cheaper. Anyway, is anyone on this list acquainted with this
textbook and would you know what edition is currently being published?
The Novell site seems to indicate that there is no textbook yet for Suse
Linux Enterprise Server 10 (SLES 10) and they are still using the course
for SLES 9, since the basics are still the same.
My other question is this: There is a pdf manual on the Novell website
at:
http://ocw.novell.
Does anyone know if this is the one and the same textbook or is it
different? Apparently Novell makes this course available now as a pdf
document under the Creative Commons Attribution-
2.5 license.
Unfortunately, these supposedly "user-friendly" websites make it
difficult to get concrete answers, so if anyone can help, I would
appreciate it.
