[LINUX_Newbies] Google Linux OS

Google OS...

The Google Chrome OS is due to be released late next year and will appear on some new laptops. However, Chromium the open source version is available now. I downloaded the winrar/gz file (299mb) and put it on a USB drive and booted it up on my laptop. It's based around the Google Chrome browser and uses "cloud computing". That means that it doesn't have installed programs and for example if you want to edit a picture you just go to Picassa web and use that software online. Links are provided. This OS is fast.
I don't personally care for the concept but Chromium is certainly worthwhile trying out.

This is the address that I got if from... http://chromeos.hexxeh.net/ Instructions are there too. If you try it out, you will need to use facepunch for the login and facepunch for the password. I'd like to what other think of Chromium.

If you want to return the USB drive to normal service you will have to do some "bit flipping" because Chromium may be write protected.

I'd like to hear what other think of Chromium.
