In short my 120GB Acer Aspire One netbook was running Ubuntu Netbook Remix. I 'upgraded' to 9.10 UNR and all I get is a Black screen.

Now I have the older 9.04 version on a USB stick, but need to know how to have the machine boot this so I can re-install it. The default is the hard disk at present. Help **desperately* * needed as the item is a promised present having agreed to sell item to a friend.

What can I do next ?

Many Thanks,

Barrie (Torquay UK)

>>>Hello,

Is there a way to access the BIOS to change the boot-up preference?  Yes, use F2 to switch to USB flash drive.  I think Mint 8 would be better, but then I don't have one to test to be sure.  I know it runs on even the 700MHz EEEpc, from what I read on Distrowatch under reviews.

Good luck,
Joan in Reno
