OS. Chromium is a web browser that works inside an OS such as Windows,
Linux and Mac OS/X. There is no Chromium OS.
You can download and run the Chrome web browser beta now. I am using it. You
can still get and run Chromium web browser. I have both installed.
Chrome OS is different altogether. I have it installed on a usb key. I built
it from the daily release of Cherry and installed it using Ubuntu's usb
creator. It works great, except that it is slow and you can't do anything
BUT browse. It is an OS that includes a web browser as a jumping off point.
There are no applications. Instead you use Google Docs, etc. My version does
not have even a printer installed and there are no applications install do
it. It is a single purpose OS. It is meant to be fast, but it is still in
early development. Your login for ChromeOS is your gmail account.
Here is how to install it: http://chromeos.hexxeh.net/
BTW, Canonical supplied Google with the operating system that runs ChromeOS.
So ChromeOS is really a stripped down Ubuntu that includes only Chrome web
browser.
