Oh, I see.
If you can't get what you are trying to do, to work, you might want to
consider pulling your wife's HD and slaving it in your machine, and then
scanning the entire slaved HD.
For me this is really simple, because my machines all have
front-loading hard drive bays, so I don't have to mess with opening the
side panel, or setting up dual/multiple boot schemes, when I want to
run/test various operating systems on a single machine.
