Openwrt will definitely work for what you are trying to do. It will fit just fine in the on board memory. If by an iolan you are simply trying to accomplish serial to ethernet conversion, then simply install openwrt, and use the built in package manager to install ser2net as was mentioned before and you will be able to use both usb ports for usb to serial adapters. I've done this many, many times and it works great. Only hiccup is making sure you install the correct kernel models for your usb dongles, but you can do that with the package manager also.
