Re: [LINUX_Newbies] Blu-Ray

So far:

I loaded Linux Mint 9 Isadora, installed the recommended updates, then
used the Synaptic Package Manager to install the VLC media player. No joy.

My initial plan was to use Ubuntu ArtistX on that computer since it
comes with so much good stuff already installed. The fact that it's
based on an older version that's about to go out of date, along with the
fact that it just isn't as smooth as Mint, convinced me that the best
thing to do is to go with a dual boot system. I'm still going to update
the Ubuntu ArtistX system and use it for video editing and the like.

I looked in the Synaptic Package Manager for a decrypter, and found
dumphd. No joy there, either -- at least with the BD that I have. It
could be that the keys for the more popular disks are more available.

I'm still doing some research, and I'll keep you updated. I'm going to
concentrate on Mint solutions, but Mint is a descendant of Ubuntu, so
what works on one ought to work on the other.
