That's a lotta glue! I went cheap with this last build, especially the case. On the up side it is very light. So light in fact I have to hold the thing down when I plug into a USB port.

Not the easiest thing I've ever gotten to work in Linux. Really I cheated and dumped in an old SBlive! card for sound. Someday maybe I'll sort out the onboard. I did manage to get the onboard video 3D accelerated and that turned out to be no easy task. At least I got to see a number of different Linux distributions in the process.

Right now it looks like I'll be sticking with Debian Squeeze in this system. Though Squeeze seems to have its fair share of issues to me so far. I wanted to run Lenny but there is no way to get the video accelerated in Lenny, the X driver is too old. Although everything I read said it should have worked, I never saw it happen.

I still have to run through another kernel config on this box to tweak some more items in it. I know I've missed some stuff there.

I may have undershot my mark a little when it comes to the optical drive I got:

So far I've yet to hear it play an audio CD. But I'm a SATA newbie so I'm sure I've missed the obvious. That, and the thing is out of balance, so it is too noisy to play media off of anyways.

If I get this CD audio thing straightened out I'm in the clear! Well that and I'm going to do a little case mod, the power light is too bright. I want to put a dropping resistor inline with it to dim it somewhat.

Then it'll be custom! But something tells me that my HTPC already is.
