Many years ago now, I used the Eudora email client for Windows and liked
it a great deal. At the time, it was one of the very best email programs
around, combining considerable power with ease of use.
Time passed, and Qualcomm essentially abandoned new Eudora development
for some years. Later, they began a new generation product--but again
much time passed with no visible results.
That has changed. These days, Eudora is again around in an open source
version. Interestingly, it is at its heart the familiar Thunderbird
client with Eudora features and interface added. Thus, it takes
advantage of all the Thunderbird extensions.
I installed it on my Linux box, and for the last few days I have been
rediscovering many of the features I used to like so much. I'm presently
using it with my Gmail account--and I must say, the return of folders is
a very welcome improvement.

Oh, yes--Eudora also supports multiple email accounts painlessly.
After I installed the Zindus extension, which makes it a snap to import
address books from either Gmail or Outlook, it was even better. My
connection to Gmail is using IMAP, so any deletions I make in Eudora are
reflected in Gmail itself.
All in all, I am very pleased with it and can recommend it highly. A
friend of mine was chatting with me last night on Skype and he was
complaining about his email situation. On my recommendation, he
downloaded and installed Eudora (unfortunately, on his Windows system,
but we're still working on that!). Within a surprisingly few minutes, he
was extremely pleased with the change from his old combination of
Outlook Express and webmail for his two accounts.
Note, though, that Mozilla suggests downloading the whole thing rather
than trying to simply add Eudora as a Thunderbird extension. That is
because there are some changes to the code base to enable all of the
