I'll try that and yes, I do have Audacity in Ubuntu Studio. My need, as you may have guessed, is not for playback but for production. I don't have a physical midi keyboard, nor do I have an Ebow (and I suck at guitar anyway) but the intent is to produce the sound of a guitar or piano where the note swells to the attack.
