I have a page that is basically for CentOS/RH/ScientificLinux 5. It
doesn't cover some parts in later versions, but it should get you
started. Depending upon what distribution you're using, things will be
in different places, but perhaps it will be useful.

documentation is usually poorly done. (As mentioned in one of the links
on my page, though they're somewhat less polite about it. Sheesh, let's
face it, the folks who write about openldap indicate why they aren't
getting paid to be tech writers. :)
