The bells and whistles may have changed, but the basic organisation of
the operating system hasn't changed much.

I remember back ten years ago it was tricky to get Linux connected to
the Internet with a lot of ISP's. Now, most Linux distributions connect
to the Internet automatically.

I remember having to write and execute a 'send-expect' script to get
Linux to go on-line.
