CentOS runs an older kernel than most versions of Linux and is often behind
in drviers. If you know the type of adapter (you can usually find it with
Device Manager if you still have Windows installed, or run Ubuntu on a live
CD, and try to figure out what type of adapter it is.
Then, you can look at elrepo.org, and see if they make an rpm for that
card. The Elrepo folks make a bunch of drivers for hardware that isn't
supported by the main CentOS/RedHat distributions.
