That would only be temporary. I hear /tmp gets erased every time you reboot. I don't know though, I don't reboot all that often, and when I do I never think to check.

Doesn't look too important to me. Not going to get a whole lot of disk space out of removing it all either. /var on the other hand can grow fairly large, and just deleting it isn't smart.
