What type of modem or router are you using? With my Dell Mini 910 only Puppy Linux, OTB, can use its internal Broadcom wi-fi. I did try testing Linux Lite on a few desktop towers, but I think I had problems, so I tested Mint Mate, but I'm awaiting their new LTS release. I did see the Linux Lite forum was pretty helpful with the many flavors of Broadcom wi-fi chipsets, did you ask them? When you try Debian-based or PcLinuxOS, perhaps other Linux Live media, they will give you a hint at what to do...Bodhi had a good write-up to get it working, too.

Subject: [LINUX_Newbies] Wireless Network & Linux Lite 1.08
Newbie here. I have successfully loaded Ubuntu 14.04 on my Dell Inspiron Laptop and everything is going swimmingly. thanks to posts here and elsewhere on the internet... so, my thanks to the awesome Linux community. Now, I have successfully loaded Linux Lite 1.08 onto a Dell Inspiron Mini 10 Netbook and cannot get it to work with my wireless network. I do get four bars, the computer reports that it's connected, but when I try to access the internet, it says "server not found" as if I'm not connected after all? Any advice appreciated! / Woody
