Again, you are best off, with all of this, trying a few re-encodes with
both, then testing if they can be played where you need them to play, is
the best way to test it.
The same for audio codecs.
You can use the -t as in time option to test with a minute or so of the
video
ffmpeg -i myfile.whatever -vcodec <yourchoice> -acodec <yourchoice> -t 60
myfile.avi
