Yuppers. As Roy is Canadian, I thought I should speak as US denizen.
That durn furriner (Joking term in this case for someone not in the US)
has hit the nail on the head. Basically, the 4th amendment is supposd
to guard against random search and seizure, but that's disappeared. In
NYC, we're told, each time we walk into the subway, "By the way,
remember the 4th amendment? Doesn't apply here." Ok, the wording is
somewhat different...
backpacks and other large containers", but the meaning is the same.

Yuppers. You have TSA personel, who seem to be as well trained as
Walmart security guards, with absolute authority. Recently, they held
an Indian movie superstar, (although stories conflict about this),
because his name was Khan. Of course, in the same week, the same state,
(NJ) took Bob Dylan in for questioning as the police officer who stopped
him had never heard of him. Apparently, she's still hearing about it
from her colleagues.

Really? I thought you guys were still nice, and say "eh" a lot.
From what I understand, the US' asininity at airports is one reason
we lost the Olympics.

Giles: Alright. I'll just jump into my time machine, go back to
the 12th century and ask the vampires to postpone their ancient
prophecy for a few days while you take in dinner and a show.
Buffy: Okay, at this point you're abusing sarcasm.
