[LINUX_Newbies] How to use a router

 

Thank you in advance for any help i have a windows pc an a refurbished compaq running ubuntu 9.10 >the only problem is getting on line with it i have not been useing linux till now.I have a comcast cabel modem an can get a router but was told to set it to automatic for the router to get me online.
