Yeah that is a good point. Given its got more compute power as well I suppose theres no free lunch :) - the thing probably consumes more electricity (and as you pointed out, generates heat).
It does seem to support WOL with the custom firmware though which might make it support on/off on demand.
I still would not trade my NSLU2 for anything, but this looks like a curious alternative if my slug eventually dies. Its handy having a box multi-task as a TV player and a webserver/bit-
