The short answer is Yes, install GRUB. Now some explanation. When
you got to that step, I suspect that what went through your head was
"I don't want to overwrite the GRUB that currently boots Ubuntu." So
on the side of caution, you said NO. Virtual Box and other virtual
machine systems make a "virtual" drive for your new install. Until
you want the virtual machine to, it can never touch the rest of the
physical drive. It is limited within its virtual drive. In order
to boot ANY Linux distro, you need a boot loader and GRUB is the most
common these days. So when you tell Arch "Yes, I want you to
install GRUB" what you are saying is, "Go ahead Arch, install
GRUB to the virtual drive." You know ahead of time that it will
not touch the boot section on your physical drive since Arch
cannot even see your physical drive.
