[LINUX_Newbies] Sharing Data Linux/WINE

I have run into a problem and I'm not sure if there is a solution.

I have a device (radio receiver) connected to my Mint computer.  This device sends data to a Linux program (dump1090) for processing.  Dump1090 outputs data in various formats on several FTP ports.

On the WINE side I have a Windows program (ADSBHub Client) that is looking to share data with dump1090 on these same FTP ports.

Now the problem.  It seems that the output of the Linux program is not making it across the Linux/WINE threshold for processing.

My question, am I trying to do the impossible?

Thanks,

Rick

[LINUX_Newbies] What Firefox or Chrome Add-On brings brightness and contrast control

What Firefox or Chrome Add-On brings brightness and contrast controls to online TV or video viewing? I've watched them on both wide-screen monitor and Samsung smart TV via computer and the shows are too dark for my liking. Is it Colorific?

In fact, the Samsung controls were too limiting to use it as a HDTV, so I picked up an Insignia HDTV and a Roku 3 for that, but still use Charter TV most of the time, since I don't have another way to record my shows yet, any suggestions?

Thanks,
Joan in Reno

That is unusual, as usually, later versions do better at supporting
hardware. (Though of course, drivers get dropped, so if it's something old,
it might not be seen.)

Out of curiosity, do you have any live CD or USBs of other current
distributions, such as Fedora 21 or one of the latest Ubuntus, and if so,
do they have the same issue?

[LINUX_Newbies] Mint 17 and 17.1 and USB ports

I've installed a new motherboard.. It is a Biostar H81MDV3 with an Intel G3220 processor (and 8 gig of RAM).

I'm currently running Mint 13 (Mate) because although the system will accept and run both Mint 17 and 17.1 (Mate) it doesn't read the USB ports when I insert a USB flash drive. It reads the drives perfectly on Mint 13.

Anybody else experienced anything like this?
