Hrrm, whenever someone says to me, "I'm not a cynic, I'm a realist," I
have to feel they're cynical. :)

Not for me, but I'm special. Seriously, it's not really what I do.

Yeah, and probably Intel.

As you say, a great deal of "THEY have to fix it."

Though in this case, I can't really fault Fedora--for reasons mentioned
earlier, they really can't do much about 3rd party stuff--rpmfusion
usually takes up the slack quickly.

As for me, at work, I just use the standard ATI driver, and at home, the
machine with an NVidia is running CentOS, and I use the proprietary
drivers from their (NVidia's) site.
