Fedora/Red Hat has at least one bug that was closed as "CANT FIX" and
the Fedora FAQ and XOrg info has details about it. From what I
gather, the problem is that XOrg made some library changes that the
vendors didn't include in their proprietary driver code causing
weirdness to ensue.
noveau works, but as Roy said, there's no 3D support which these days
is kinda important.
That being said, I am NOT using Fedora 12 (nor am I running Fedora
anything at this moment) and what I know is just what I read today
while looking up some info on this particular issue...
But that also wouldn't be the first time that something like this has
happened. Right now though, it sounds like a lot of finger pointing
and no real work to resolve the issue. And also, from what I gather,
these new XOrg issues are not just nVidia, but ATI also...
