I don't agree. You can support free and open software and still not take a
narrow attitude about proprietary. At some point the rubber must meet the
road. Living in denial does not help users and as they become frustrated it
turns people away rather than encourages them. RMS and company have done
much for us. However, they are living in dream land. I agree with their
visions, but that is not your starting point, but end point. The problem is
that they have created a vision that does not work in the real world yet.

My criticism of Debian is based on an unreal perception of the world. People
have proprietary parts in their computers and people need them to work.
Denying them help hurts users and in the end makes Debian look bad for not
giving it. It is what happens when you charge at windmills.
