I have only experienced this when opening websites on a slow system with
the incorrect video driver but never on a system with your specs. If it
is a driver or system problem then you should have a problem in all
browsers.
I agree with J, FF 3 should be avoided. I have switched to Opera 10
which performs much better. It doesn't even require an unmaintained
plugin to move the tab bar onto the side of the screen (wide screen user).
