What tool did you use to try and increase resolution? If you
are using the proprietary nVidia driver, you must used the
nVidia X server setting tool. (System->Administration->NVIDIA X
Server Settings.
I am running version 180.44 of the nVidia driver on 9.04 and am able
to change the resolution up to the max resolution on my monitor.
I have had two different nVidia based cards on this machine and
had no issues whatsoever changing resolution.
