Ok... I have run Puppy Linux in the past. It is a "Live CD', as you
state, but it does have the capability to create a partition on the hard
drive of your computer, which can be used to save installed applications
permanently.
Did you create such a partition?
If you did not, then whatever application you downloaded would have run
in RAM memory, and would disappear when you stopped the session, and
removed the 'Live CD'.
In order to permanently install applications, you have to install them
onto a 'hard' media, like a hard drive, a USB thumb drive, or an SD drive.
For future reference, remember the 'which' command:
