linuxgeek: [nslu2-linux] unable to get cross compile environment to build existing packages like ffmpeg

I followed this guide http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Optware/AddAPackageToOptware

I Setup a vm with Ubuntu 8, made sure I used gcc 3.3 and the right Libtool and Libtoolize.

However the packages I want to build depend on ffmpeg and the ffmpeg make that comes down from optware ffmpeg template fails

It seems like something might be broken in the source as some others have had trouble building their packages as well, I am getting the same type of errors found in this thread. http://mybookworld.wikidot.com/forum/t-234713
