Hi, Kaz!
I recently bought an L675 and basically love it (17.3 inch screen is killer!) but the number pad doesn't work properly. I cannot use the 0, 3, 6 and 9 keys. Have you had this problem? Apparently it's rampant in many of their current models. And I hate to say this but Win 7 isn't bad, though it's not XP, and it will be gone as soon as my warranty is up. Meanwhile, Mint 9 and Ubuntu Studio reside in VBox.
Good luck with you modem-connection issue. I'm sure someone here will be able to help you.
