experimental and there are no long range plans for it. So at this time it is
just a side project and you cannot assume that it has a future. He also said
that it was almost on par with the Ubuntu version in terms of features. It
is a rolling distribution based on Debian testing, whereas Ubuntu is based
on Sid. They will never be equal. Sid is a year or two more advanced. Mint
(not LMDE) is based on Ubuntu and uses its repositories and therefore we can
assume that Mint has a more recent kernel and more recent applications at
any given point of time, remembering that we are comparing apples with
oranges (fixed versus rolling release).
