Ubuntu Linux and Linux Mint are about two of the most popular among
Debian Linux too.

Ubuntu Linux is always rated as easiest and most secure and stable. It
climbed almost immediately in popularity to rival age old and most
popular Debian Linux. It is very user friendly and has easiest install
ever. I would recommend their LTS releases - Long Term Support. Ubuntu
10.04 LTS is current and the newer 12.04 LTS is arriving about March and
will be supported for 5 years this time. 10.10 has the newer interface
that is reflected now in newest releases.

Looked into Linux quite awhile back but serious illness in my family prevented me from doing any more. Remember one version, which I was really interested in but cannot remember it's name[was not ubuntu/kubuntu]. Thank You in advance for any assistance. Please Pray for our son Mike, who is on Afgan deployment list[already served in Iraq].... Tom in NH
