Sorry, Roy, but when it comes to computers, your wife seems like she
is not the sharpest crayon in the box.
Try to slowly accustom her to the idea that XP won't be around
forever, as Microsoft will begin seriously phasing out support soon
enough.
I trust she has compensating qualities, however.
I have a different, but simpler, problem. My wife is without question
the smartest lady I have ever known--but she has very little interest
in computers at all. (She is a very senior anesthesiologist in a
hospital here in Ukraine.)
Of course, my stepson is a freshman in a computer engineering course
at Donetsk National Technical University and I am on my computer much
of the day for one reason or another. When Irina gets home, using a
computer other than to watch an occasional movie my stepson has
downloaded is not on her list of "things to do."
For her, for the most part, computers in the house are something to tolerate...
