[LINUX_Newbies] Re: Off topic but appreciated non Linux advice

 



Hi Roy

It certainly sounds like a trojan. It's not actually an AV program that you need - you should get a spyware program like AdAware and/or Spybot Search and Destroy. Both are free and easy to find with a google search. If they will install, then you have a good chance of removing the trojan.
If not, then I suggest following the advice at http://www.avtc.org/how-to-remove-trojan-general.html using hijackthis. The folks at sites like majorgeeks are really helpful.
