Good point.  Are you using 32 bit or 64 bit Ubuntu?  Do this command at the terminal and tell us the results. Better yet, reply to this email, copy the terminal like you did before, and paste it into the reply:

uname      -m

The only additional information I can give you is what I typed in to
the control panel:

I probably tried about 30 variations of the above, but  "file not found" and "command not found' are what I got back.
