[LINUX_Newbies] Linux Mint 18.1 32 Bit

I booted into my XP-MCE today, and I can't access or at least find a way to access any XP files.

When I used the 64 Bit edition on my Vista PC I had access to everything.

Is this normal? What did I do wrong? Both boots were from separate DVD disks.

THanks

Re: [nslu2-linux] Swapfile

No, I remember now why that swapfile was there. It seems that Linux systems insist that a swap facility be visible, else it will not boot. See http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/SlugOS/InstallandTurnupABasicSlugOSSystem.

So that is the simplest way to get one. Don't know why it has to be that size (maybe it has to be more that Real memory). It never get used, so you just arrange for it to be excluded from dumps.

Re: [nslu2-linux] Swapfile

Only your load can tell.
Run the command
   vmstat <delay> <count> | tee /tmp/vmstat.txt
    where <delay> is the seconds
and <count> is number of counts

Check the output to see if swap is in active use. If yes, I suggest you purchase a raspberry pi $35. If not, you can remove it. Please Google 'how to remove swap in linux'

Subject: [nslu2-linux] Swapfile

I just notices that the root partition on my slug (slugos/Be v3.1 I think)
contains a huge swapfile of 33MB, apparently created on the date when
'turnup' was run.

Is this of any use, and is it safe to delete it?

Re: [LINUX_Newbies] update from 16.04 to 10 and NOW no www III

Because the problem is with one computer in your group. My guess is that
the Ethernet adapter needs an updated driver.

Maybe revert back to the older OS until the bug is fixed???
