[LINUX_Newbies] ACTA

First let me apologize for cross-posting, not something that I usually do.

The FSF is organizing a campaign in the US to protest ACTA which will
limit free software. I am not an American, so am forwarding this on to
Americans here on their behalf. You can act or not as you choose. The
details are in their article. I
will not want to get into a long discussion on it. This is for your
information only.

ACTA has been done in secret by government and industry with no
outside input and leaks have revealed that what they are trying to do
is not good for users. If you are not sure what ACTA is about then you
can Google it and you will find much information. There are campaigns
against it all over the world. Now it is the US's turn. I have posted
this in the hopes that people will at least think about the larger
issues because a culture of software freedom is essential for Linux to
to survive. The FSF is on the forefront, but they cannot do it alone,
hence the appeal. If you are in another country, perhaps you can
Google ACTA and your country's name.

Although it is potentially a hot topic, I hope the moderators will
allow this information to be posted so that users can at least be
informed.
