This issue was discussed earlier but I forgot the answer so here we go again. Apologies to those who are easily frustrated with ADD-folks...I know we're frustrating.
After a thorough back-up, of course, I want to dual-boot with the existing Win 7 and probably Mint 9. (Toshiba Satellite L675D, 4-Gig RAM, AMD Athlon II P320 Dual-Core). I believe the issue is with GRUB and Win 7.
Incidentally, I must admit that I kinda like 7, though it's not XP. I'd be happy having it in VBox if I didn't love every 1/10-inch of the screen while watching movies.
Thanx,
Mark
