Mutt will work with Lubuntu. Definitely.

Yup, there are reasons the more experienced dislike them--there's a saying
Unix doesn't stop you from doing stupid things because that would also stop
you from doing clever things. Fedora, Lubuntu, and similar systems tend to
stop you from doing stupid things, and while doing it, get in your way.

Install mutt and just set up your .muttrc as you did with Slack. There
really shouldn't be a problem. I use getmail and msmtp with mutt. I have a
