It sound like you are talking about editing text. This is completely
different in a graphic interface as opposed to a command line although
there are many ways to edit using the keyboard in a GUI.
It is still unclear just what you are trying to DO in thunderbird so if
you could give a bit more info, that would help. And, since I am mostly
a GUI user, I really don't know if thunderbird has a command line interface.
