Hi I am a first timer hear and have a situation i would like some advice on Please.
I have downloaded a copy of Linux ubuntu from the web and created a boot installer USB stick. When my system boot on the stick the screen shows a number of options on the screen momentarily and then continues to load a version that runs striate from the USB drive. I think it is something like "Try before you install". When it has loaded the startup GUI it requires a Use-name and password before it will continue. I have searched the web for an answer and found no information regarding what the cardinals are. I have not entered any myself nor have i been asked to create an account prior to this and have tried the more obvious ones and more than i can count from articles on the web. All to no avail. I would like to test the program before i install it. It was suggested that i may have downloaded a copy that has had an account added before and hence i am being asked for it. If it is the case that i have a bum version of the ISO file can you please point me to where i mite get a good working copy if the ISO file that does not require a completely unknown user-name and password please.
Many Thanks.
