Re: [LINUX_Newbies] Linux Mint 18.1 Wifi won't connect

Thanks, it's a good idea. I did verify the ISO DVD. This Wifi problem, from a number of posts online, seems a recurring issue with Broadcom Wifi cards of the 2009-2012 or so era. Not all of them, just the ones like I have.  Many solutions are offered, some of them work when the problem is recurring password authentication, but mine is never connected in the first place. Is it an ISP problem, a software mismatch ... who knows.

I have just had a password problem that turned out to be a bad copy of the downloaded ISO file for the Linux OS. If yous is a new install you mite want to consider a copy from somewhere else and re-installing that. My good copy came from www.Linux.com

I"m only running Linux Mint Cinnamon 18.1. The Vista ran fine to the very end of the hard drive, just a few weeks ago, and now is gone forever. Linux with cable runs well. Will not connect to the internet.
