Subject: [LINUX_Newbies] network problems with linux and windows 8.x

Have a Lenovo 580 G Windows 8.1 computer.  Network works fine.  Uses Broadcom Atheros network stuff.  Installed Mint 15 alongside Windows.  No network, wired or wireless...same for Puppy.  Tried Puppy on my old Dell Inspiron laptop and the network works.  Me thinks the Lenovo/Broadcom is not compatable with current Linux distributions.  Anybody got a solution for this mess?

Hello...
The easiest fix is to use an USB LAN or WI-FI adapter, since old or new hardware can be a problem to Linux or Windows for that matter. Sometimes you can use a Linux wrapper to a Windows driver, check their Forum for a fix.
