I'm running Linux Mint 13 and a recent update included the
new Cinnamon 2.0. At the end of the process, the Update
Manager reported it had detected two different sources for
Cinnamon and had prevented them overwriting each other.
But when the machine rebooted, the desktop was empty.
No Cinnamon in any form.
I now have no menus, so no access to Synaptic or any
other means to get the DE back. If anyone has suffered
the same fate or has any idea how to regain enough
control to reinstall Cinnamon without access to
Synaptic or Apt, I'd appreciate the help.
Michael.
