Re: [LINUX_Newbies] how to clean linux from a software

Midori stores its settings under the .config folder in your home folder. Just navigate to that location. Make sure hidden files is enabled in your file manager (ctrl+h in nautilus or alt+. in dolphin) and then go to .config/midori and delete the whole folder midori folder manually. That should do the trick.

Well if it was me, I'd try Synaptic to remove it completely, since it might trigger questions referring to the stuff you mention. You may need to re-boot before putting it back in. Then, you may want to think about banking or other sensitive stuff from a Live CD, perhaps Puppy, since it has a firewall you can turn on easy, and once you're finished you leave no trace behind, since it runs in RAM.

how to clean linux from a software

because of onlinebanking I need a clean and empty browser

I did:

sudo apt-get remove --purge midori

sudo apt-get autoremove

sudo apt-get install midori

BUT
Midori still owns the old dirt.

Example:

I open midori
www.yahoo.com
my email account.

II

sudo apt-get remove --purge midori

sudo apt-get autoremove

sudo apt-get install midori

III
I start midori again and there
is
www.yahoo.com.

How can I clean and delete so
after

new install midori or other software is fresh
and there is no

old stuff.

sophie
