Depending upon how new the computer is, it may be harder to disable secure
boot. However, several of the major distributions, are able to boot with
it. Not sure about Mint.

However, the OP can't get into the BIOS. Might be worth calling the
manufacturer's support--no need to mention Linux, just say you need to get
into the BIOS and don't see a way.
