Hrrm, I forget the question--was it can he learn from Redhat? Sure, but
unfortunately, because of the way Linux is, most of the time, you spend
a lot of time learning about the particular distribution. RH, you spend
time learning how to use rpm, yum, and such. Debian and Ubuntu,
synaptic. As both tend to use odd naming schemes here and there, you
have to fight that too.
Slackware is one of the more pristine Linuxes, but if you want to learn
Unix, you might also try any BSD. They are more Unixy, and have better
documentation.
See Roy <snicker>, my guess is that Jeff missed the part you were
answering because of the top posting. <cough cough>
Trolling for fun and profit
(But as a wimp by nature, I'd be really upset if two of my most admired
folks on this list started fighting...)

Xander: Jeez. You mean Oz just sent for his stuff and didn't even
call her? That's pretty harsh.
Anya: I only wish I had my powers back. I'd liquefy his entrails
for her.
Xander: That's sweet.
